Identification of the main victimising factors among women in Chetumal, Quintana Roo
Keywords:
Violence, women, victimisation, genderAbstract
Due to the significantly higher victimisation rate among women compared to men, it becomes necessary to investigate the underlying reasons for this disparity. In other words, it is crucial to accurately identify the factors influencing women's vulnerability to becoming victims. This phenomenon is not merely coincidental; rather, there is substantial evidence that explains why women are more likely to experience victimisation. In this regard, the present research is considered highly viable, given its valuable contribution to the field. The study of victims is constantly evolving due to the breadth and complexity of the subject matter, opening avenues for the collection of specific data—particularly regarding women—in order to identify the common and relevant factors associated with their victimisation. Therefore, this research serves as a useful resource for institutions dedicated to preventing violence against women and supporting those at greater risk of becoming victims.
